Synopsis:

This is a fullscreen, random, interactive maze game that players must navigate by driving a car, walking, flying, skiing, and/or rafting. There are 16 screen scenes that are all interconnected. Players must also be on the lookout for objects to collect, such as letters, numbers, star pieces, and a penguin, which add to your cumulative score.

Each screen consists of lots of interconnected roads in which players use their fingers to move their ‘characters’ to collect a piece of star, letter, numbers etc. It’s not an easy game as the roads are more European in style and not created on some American grid system, and there are even one way streets. So you need to think ahead to plan your moves.

It is based upon five published maze books by the author (EcoMazes: 12 Earth Adventures, Mazeways: A to Z, Wild West Trail Ride Maze, Amazement Park, and Mazescapes).

The developer is the very creative app company OCG Studios, whose Artist Mortimer app I reviewed last week.

Why I like this: This app combines very challenging play, amazing graphics that highlight the iPad, fabulous and intricate hand-drawn illustrations, and a very good user interface. Adults and children will appreciate playing this game. One of the best things about this “Vacation Adventure” is that each time you play your adventure is a little different as you’re asked to “find and seek” different objects, making replay value very high.It is wordless making it a perfect international game. One of its successes has been educationally with special needs children. Maze-work can help develop: concentration, focus, problem-solving ability, spatial awareness, and even helps improve children’s handwriting.
I particularly enjoyed the zoo animals in the city! I have been playing this app for weeks and I’m not bored yet! There are really hours of high-quality entertainment and educational value with this app. It is one of the most complex I have used for young children.
