An A – Z of France by an enamored expat!

Spread the love

Around the world in 50 weeks couldn’t really exclude France, the country of my adoption. This is my thirteenth year here in Nice, thus I have lived here four times longer than anywhere else as an adult. I feel fully at home amongst the delights, quirks and frustrations of the southern gallic culture. Last year I did an A-Z of my experiences in the land of Asterix and Obélix, and thought for my new followers, it could be fun to assemble all the posts on this one page. Feel free to read in bite-sized pieces, as it is a lot information to absorb at one sitting!

Bonne lecture!

  1. I loved this series. It is such a beautiful peek at your beloved home and culture. Among my favorites, were the opera house in Nice. You live in such a beautiful city, work in Monaco and are an hour from Italy! Doesn’t get much better than that. So much history and tradition packed into this series.

Thank you, Pat. I often get blog hits on aspects of this series, so I thought for anyone genuinely interested in France and the culture, it would be useful to gather the posts onto one page. I really enjoyed writing about my adventures here!

  2. Great idea to gather all these posts together! I loved this series last year. I will savor it slowly as I relive all the delicious posts.

    Thank you!

Thank you so much, Beth. This francophile felt the need to promote France once again! This is where looking at blog stats is useful, to see what might be of interest!

  4. I too loved this series of yours. And now I feel quilty as I have not finished mine…. I stopped right when it was getting to the juicy part to…… shameful! Will endeavour to rectify that for you sometime soon. I promise!

THIS IS SO COOL! Thank you for telling us about it! I love learning about different countries! I am going to visit each letter! I would love to visit France. My parents went to Paris (before I was born) and I like to look at their pictures.

    • Joanna says:

Erik, I am so happy that you like this. And I hope you will get a trip to France before long. I know you would appreciate all this country has to offer a visitor!

  6. I’ve never been to France, but I can relate about the Italian drivers. I’ll stop back by to make it through the rest of the alphabet.

  7. Joanna says:

Even my Italian friend speaks of Italian driving, Stacy! 🙂

  8. Ooh! What fun! I think I recognize that red motorbike… 🙂
